We have started to use a new scheme in school called 'Letterjoin'. All of these children have made a great start and have impressed their teachers! Their magnificent work has been displayed on our writing display near Mrs Parker's office.
Here is the home learning for Thursday and Friday this week. Complete as many activities as you can and upload the work you complete to Seesaw. I cannot wait to see all the amazing things that you do.
It was raining so we couldn't do our normal PE lesson outside. Instead we had lots of fun developing our hand eye co-ordination skills in the classroom by having egg and spoon races, playing air hockey and practising bouncing, throwing and rolling balls. Some of us took what Miss Mainprize had taught us and even created our own games!
We were very lucky on Friday to have a visit from Max and Harvey as part of green and blue day to raise money for Manchester Children's Hospital. They sang a song for us and we got to ask them lots of questions.
We were very busy in Science last week learning lots about space. We learnt about the phases of the moon and how the moon orbits the Earth whilst the Earth is orbiting the sun. We also pretended to be astronauts by wearing gloves to see if it made tasks more difficult. Finally we used Lego to create our very own alien planets.
Year 1 have been working really hard on their artwork and have used warm or cold colours and their cutting skills to make these brilliant pictures.
Year 1 had a visit from the Evil Pea! He stole all our superpower potions that we made last week and also caused distress to lots of the vegetables. We decided to make some posters and stick them around school to see if anyone had seen him.
In Year 1, we have had a very busy day today! We have read the Supertato story, wrote a list of all the things that we would need Supertato to have and created our very own Supertato's! Watch out Evil Pea!
Attached are some activities that you can complete at home if you are self isolating.
Please choose as many activities as you want to complete. Email admin@broadbentfold.tameside.sch.uk or upload to Seesaw any samples or photographs of what you do and I will update the class blog with samples of work.
