Reception Blog

Our Roof is Complete.

Mr Daniel Parker the Executive at Crescent Roofing came today in assembly to share photos of the whole process. This was fascinating for our pupils and inspired a couple to want to be a roofer! We were also lucky to get drone footage of the school, which the pupils loved. Let's hope that it will last us, so we no longer need any more pots of pans! Our Pupil Leaders had some great questions, which Daniel answered and gave us more detail of the whole process. Well done to our leaders, you always make me proud.

Commonwealth Games Baton Relay

Broadbent Fold took part in the Commonwealth Games Baton Relay where the baton was passed between lots of schools in Tameside. Our Sports Leaders Molly and Sophie represented the school in carrying the baton. Everyone is so excited for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham in a few weeks.

Summer Fair

Thank you to everyone for joining us and supporting us on our summer fair. We had the good weather, great games, lovely food and plenty of fun. Thank you to the PTFA for their support too! We will share our total soon, but this will go to improving our libraries.

Forest crowns

The reception group had fun today playing 1,2,3 Where are you?, making their beautiful forest crowns and bug hunting. The children found some fantastic hiding places! Well done everyone!

Swimming Gala

Well done to our year 5 and 6s who represented Broadbent Fold in the Tameside Swimming Gala. Pupils swam so fast and we even had a couple of 1st places! We came 6th overall and the pupils were a great team supporting and cheering each other on. We are very proud.

Fun in the trees.

The children in Reception had a fantastic climbing and hiding in the trees.  They also decorated wood cookies to make spinners and medals for Fathers Day.

Jubilee Celebrations!

On the last day of term the whole school got together to sing the songs throughout the decades that they had been  practising each week!   Great fun was had by all as the children sung Doris Day's "Que Sera, Sera", Madonna's "Holiday" and many others, including their favourite "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees!  They had a great celebration, dressed in their red, white and blue to commemorate HRH our Majesty the Queen's platinum Jubilee!
