Well done to our Broadbent Fold handwriting champions who have already impressed their teachers with their wonderful handwriting and presentation or for a great improvement in their handwriting.
Our winners include Nursery- Isabella, Reception- Mason, Year 2- Toby, Year 4- Isobel, Year 5- Thomas, Year 6- Ethan.
All of their fantastic work is on display on our amazing writing board.
Next week is National Poetry Day on Thursday 7th October.
In school all classes from Y1-Y6 will be perform a poem to the school in assembly.
We would also like children to take part in a competition at home: please make up a poem about space as we celebrate space week on 11th October.
Your poem could rhyme, it could be in an interesting shape, it could be acrostic. Any idea as long as it is about space!
Please bring in your poem to school and hand it in to your teachers by Friday 8th October if you would like to be entered into the competition.
Attached is a challenge/home learning grid packed with ideas and activities for anybody at home self isolating or anyone who wants to do some extra learning. All activities are linked to our topic - Autumn and the Little Red Hen.

It is lovely to see how much the children's handwritng and presentation skills are developing from the start of the year. All of these children have impressed their teachers
The children in Reception have had a fun time in forest school playing 1,2,3 where are you, using the guttering to make water slides, balancing on the slackline, making blobsters and leaf bashing.
Our Key Stage 2 Pupil Leaders enjoyed demonstrating the new playground equipment today! The newly installed apparatus was chosen by last year’s Pupil Leadership Team and is proving extremely popular! The children think it’s a great way to keep fit whilst having a chat with your friends!
The Olympic Torch arrived last week as we took part in Tameside's baton relay. Our Sports Ambassadors ran through school with the London 2012 torch and they were joined by a special mascot!
It was a fabulous end to our Sports Week.
Recption had fun making musical instruments for their orchestra. They used natural materials that they found amongst the trees.
