Reading Ambassadors Celebration Event

Today our KS2 Reading Ambassadors went to Dukinfield Town Hall to take part in a celebration event with lots of other Tameside schools. It was lovely to see them up on the stage to receive their certificate to thank them for their hard work this year. I am super proud of them all.

Do you have what it takes to promote a love of reading next year? Maybe you could be the next Reading Ambassador to represent our school!

Summer Reading Challenge 2023: Ready, Set, Read!

Today we had a visitor from Tameside Libraries who introduced the new Summer Reading Challenge which is now open to enter. This summer, join the Ready, Set, Read! team and their animal mascots for the Reading Challenge as they use their skills to weave their way through a summer obstacle course. The Challenge will celebrate play and participation, encouraging you to engage in games and sports in any way that best suits you!

More fantastic work in Year 5 led to Headteacher's and Good to be Green Awards as well as Gold certificates this week!  Brilliant questioning of our "Caught in the Crossfire!" topic, being our very own "Class Dictionary" and being Ready, Respectful and Safe all week are the reasons for this week's awards!  Well done everyone!  Mrs Blomeley

Broadbent Fold vs St Mary’s

Our Year 4 and 5 girls football team had their very first matches in a friendly tournament against St Mary's Catholic Primary School. There was some great goal keeping, defending and passing skills. The rain didn't stop the girls and they had a great time! Well done girls!

Fun with Area and Geometry!

Year 5 enjoyed making 2D shapes on their pin boards last week!  They made regular shapes, irregular shapes and various different types of triangles including Isosceles, Equilateral and Scalene. They also drew and measured the area of their hands and we found out that taller children have the largest hand area!  Great mathematical work Year 5!  Mrs Blomeley
