Broadbent Fold vs Gee Cross

Broadbent Fold's boys football team had a fantastic friendly match against Gee Cross Primary School winning the game 3-1. There was some great team working, passing and defending especially in the second half where we really worked as a team. Well done everyone!

Cheshire Cricket Finals

We had a lovely afternoon at the Cheshire cricket finals on Wednesday and we came 3rd overall beating Godley in round 1 and losing a very close game against Arlies. We then won our friendly against Lyndhurst before we played St Mary's Dukinfield in the play off for 3rd place in another very close game. Everyone showed brilliant batting and fielding skills with lots of 6s scored, catches and lots of bowling to hit the wickets. Well done everyone!

Outside Learning - Life Cycle role play!

To endorse their current Science topic of Life Cycles,  Year  5 began their outside Science session today by engaging in some role play - enacting the life cycle of a frog!  From frogspawn to an adult frog, they enjoyed their metamorphisis  through the different stages.  Later, they searched on the field for any other examples of living things, including plants and trees!  The class were very well behaved and compassionate towards nature.  Well done Year 5.  Mrs Blomeley

Outside Learning - Climate Change Dodgeball!

Year 5 enjoyed their outside session today playing Climate Challenge Dodgeball!  . We had an Earth group, a Greenhouse Gases group and the Sun, who threw “rays” in the form of bean bags at the Earth.  It was a fast-paced game to show how increasing greenhouse gases causes global warming. It was a fun way to ensorse this important problem that is currently in the news. Mrs Blomeley

Digging up the vegetable beds!

In gardening club today we dug up the overgrown raised beds. We found a giant spring onion, some small onions and some very odd shaped carrots! While we were digging we found lots of worms, a red beetle chrysalis and a very friendly snail! We are going to relocate the vegetable plot and hopefully grow some more fruit, vegetables and herbs this year. The children all worked extremely hard. Well done everyone!

Awards in Year 5!

Year 5 have worked really hard this week, despite having to vacate their classroom every morning for Year 6 to take their assessments!  They did this with the minimum of fuss and made sure our Year 6 children had the best possible start to their days.  For this they received a whole class merit!  Other merits were awarded for having an excellent approach to school and for being Ready Respectful and Safe.  Gold certificates and badges were given for achieving the amazing total of 200 star points!  Well done everyone!  Mrs Blomeley

Can you guess the planet?

During our SATs morning breakfast we found a shape that looked like a planet. Can you guess it? Yes - it is Saturn in our rice crispies! Made all year 6 laugh.
