Ultimate questions

In RE today, we have been looking at "Ultimate Questions", questions that are difficult to answer and that led to a great discussion.

We then read "Heaven" by Nicholas Allen which links to our new scheme of work.

"What do religions say to us when life gets hard."

Jason Robinson Trust

A huge thank for the continued hard work and guidance our pupils are receiving from the Jason Robinson Trust. Coach, Charles has been rewarding effort and skills in rugby with some amazing prizes. Well done year 6 team!

Year 6 Superstars!

Well done to Kade and Oliver for winning the Headteacher Certificates in Year 6 this week.

Oliver has created a superb suspense story about a doll shop which he should be very proud of.

Kade has come back to school with a great attitude to learning and has worked really hard this week.

Our Good to be Green winners are Mia and Jake.

A special well done to Evie who is the first member of the class to win the Headteacher Award- this is thoroughly deserved Evie!

Congrtulations to Ruby for winning her Gold Award.

Printing Artwork

Our final artwork is incredible and I am so proud of how they have all turned out. I think we could sell some of these prints. Well done Year 6!

Look at our fantastic vegetable garden!

We have lots of fruit and vegetables growing in our garden area. Lettuce, carrots, broad beans, strawberries, rasberries and a range of herbs. We can't wait to taste them! Gardening club have been busy weeding the other garden areas around school and taking pictures of the lovely flowers.

Sponsored Walk

Year 1 loved their sponsored walk to Gorse Hall. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came on the walk with us and to everyone that sponsored us. Also a big thank you to Mia who showed excellent leadership skills by showing us around the park and telling us about the local history.

Summer 2 Topic Information: Why were the Mayans magnificent?

Please see the attached topic information for Summer 2. We will be looking at the early civilisation of the Mayans who lived in what is now Central America. We will research what life was like in Ancient Mayan times, what they are remembered for and what happened to them in the end. We will also spend a lot of time talking about transition to high school this term- we have a transition workshop booked in for Week 2 with 2 Boards and A Passion Theatre Company.

Year 6's sponsored walk to Gorse Hall

We had a great time on our walk around Gorse Hall despite the poor weather and our slight detour which added on an extra 20 minutes to the journey!

A huge well done to our leader Sophia who led us with confidence sharing the history of Gorse Hall- it was lovely to see your leadership skills today Sophia!

Happy holidays to everyone!
