Well done to all the children in Year 1 for taking part in a fantastic sports day. Great team work everyone!
In forest school today Year 1 pretended to be bats and use their sense of hearing to find and catch the 'moths'. Then they used their sense of touch to explore the trees and find them again after their blindfolds were removed. All of the children worked well in their teams and helped each other. The children also used the hammers and leaves to make patterns on cloth which is called Hapazome. Well done everyone!

Well done to our year 5 and 6s who represented Broadbent Fold in the Tameside Swimming Gala. Pupils swam so fast and we even had a couple of 1st places! We came 6th overall and the pupils were a great team supporting and cheering each other on. We are very proud.
Year 1 had a very busy time in their forest school session. They have been playing a game that involves searching for wool 'worms', making nests and animal homes. They have been climbing trees and made a new friend called Slowy the snail!
On the last day of term the whole school got together to sing the songs throughout the decades that they had been practising each week! Great fun was had by all as the children sung Doris Day's "Que Sera, Sera", Madonna's "Holiday" and many others, including their favourite "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees! They had a great celebration, dressed in their red, white and blue to commemorate HRH our Majesty the Queen's platinum Jubilee!
On National Numeracy Day we looked at Maths throughout the school and chose a Super Mathematician of the Day from each class. Tiny, our White Rose Maths mascot, helped to present the certificates! Well done to everyone! Tiny will be visiting each classroom for the last Half Term! Mrs Blomeley

This half term, our topic is called 'Tremendous Toys: Have you got this toy at home?' and focuses on how toys have changed since our grandparents were little to the current toys today. Pupils will take part in a toy workshop where they get to play with old toys and design and create their own moving toy. For more information about what we will be covering this half term, please see the MTP topic web below.
