Monarch Homework

Year 6 had a homework task to research their favourite British Monarch and present some information about them in class.

I have been so impressed with their ICT skills, presentation skills and the way that they delivered their research to everyone.

Library Club

This week our librarians started a lunchtime club where they read and play games with children in KS2.

Well done to Aaron and Abigail for winning the Good to be Green Award.

How does light travel?

We have been investigating how light travels in straight lines using torches and mirrors. We then had lots of fun working in groups to make a periscope. A periscope is an optical instrument that uses mirrors to reflect images through a 3D shape. Light rays hit the top mirror and are then reflected at an angle of 90 degrees down the periscope to the second mirror. At the bottom of the periscope, the light hits another mirror and is then reflected into the viewer's eye.

Paper bin design competition

The Eco leaders would like to launch a competition to design a new sign for our blue paper bins in school. They would like the sign to explain why it is important to recycle paper - e.g. Save the world, recycle your paper. The sign should be eye catching and colourful on A4 paper. Please send your entries into school by Friday 4th November and the Eco leaders will be choosing the winners from each class.
