A big well done to Riley who was picked by the Inspire coaches as last week's Sports Star of the Week.
Thank you to all the parents during Autumn term who brought in stickers from Aldi. We managed to fill 2 posters and so have recieved 2 bags of free sporting equipment. In each bag there are some bibs, cones, beanbags, relay batons, stickers, egg and spoons and some balls. Broadbent Fold will have a fantastic time using this equipment in the run up to sports day!
A massive thank you to all of the children at Broadbent Fold who took part in our Science Fair competition. I have really enjoyed looking at all of the different scientific experiments that have been produced. Thankyou to all of the parents and carers for supporting this event.
Our winners were:
Reception- Vincent Ennis and Charlie Hilton
Y1- Phoebe Easter and Isla Rothwell
Y2- Sam Sheppard and Evie O'Brien

Y5- Cerys Clayton and Gracie Lawlor
Year 6 have all passed their O.W.L's (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) during our Harry Potter themed experiments today at Rayner Stephens High School. We have looked at chemical reactions caused by mixing bicarbonate of soda and vinegar and we have looked at the density of liquids. The children have had a really enjoyable day and used lots of scientific knowledge in their predictions and conclusions. I am really impressed with their efforts.
Broadbent Fold took part in the Challenge Me Throwing and Catching event on Monday. Pupils in EYFS ahd to throw and catch a large ball for 2 minutes, pupils in KS1 had to throw and catch a tennis ball for 4 minutes and pupils in KS2 had to try to throw and catch a ball with one hand for 6 mintues. Pupils enjoyed the event and all got stickers for taking part.
Well done to all of Year 6 for completing and sharing your 'Science Fair' projects with the rest of the class. The children have had the opportunity to share how they have worked scientifically to plan and investigate a scientific question during their home learning. The children produced a variety of scientific enquiries from investigating magnets and exploring density to looking at chemical reactions made to create volcanoes. We have also entered a competition to design a product for an engineer.
We have finally completed our sculptures of Skellig from our class text. We started our sculptures with artist Sarah Hicks and we have now added the finishing touches. These have been diplayed around the school. I am really pleased with the end results- well done year 6!
