World Book Day in Y6

We have thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day in school this week and I hope that you have at home too.

The Masked Reader 2021 was a great success. We had a good laugh and I was so impressed with your detective work at working out which adults were reading.

Well done to all those who joined in with dressing up as their favourite book characters on Thursday- have a look at some photographs above.

Y6 Stars of the week 5-3-21

This week out Y6 Stars are two girls. Well done Poppy B and Gracie.

Poppy is mature, polite and hardworking. She brings a lovely energy to the classroom with her confidence and personality.

Gracie is a lovely member of the class who works with enthusiasm and confidence in all lessons.

Congratulations girls. :)

Y6 Stars of the week 26-2-21

Well done to our Y6 Stars of the week Harry and Aarron.

Harry is incredibly hardworking and is keen to complete all of his work accurately. He has produced some lovely poetry this week in our English work. He is also very good at mental arithmetic. Keep up the good work Harry.

Aarron is a mature, conscientious worker who has completed all home learning tasks to a high standard. Again his poetry this week has been exceptional. I always love listening to your responses Aarron.

Congratulations boys.

Y6 Home Learning Grid 1st March

Well done for a great first week back. I have really enjoyed your poetry last week. Some really beautiful poems were written. Well done!

This week we have World Book Day. Don’t forget to dress up on Thursday and to take part in the competition. I hope you all enjoy our author workshops this week.

I have created a suggested timetable again for this week- please use if it helps you to organise your time.

One more week of home learning and we will back together as a class.

Sport Bingo Grids

Tameside School Sport have released the next set of bingo grids. This time the sports are gymnastics, netball, tennis, dodgeball and HIIT fitness. For each bingo grid you complete you earn a medal and if you complete 6 you get a School Games badge! Once you have completed them, please use the instructions at the bottom of the bingo grid to send them in. If you choose to complete the tennis bingo grid, there is a link at the top to a video which explains what some of the activities are.

World Book Day 4/3/21

On Thursday 4th March it is World Book Day. Please see the attached newsletter underneath with all of the information about events that will be happening in school or via Remote Learning during the week. Children can dress as their favourite book characters on this day - this is optional for those that wish to join in. Please don't buy anything - children can make props or use items that they already have around the home.

I am looking forward to what this new term brings and hope that we will be back together as a class very soon.
