Amazing achievements this week

Well done to the children who received this week’s Head Teacher and Good to be Green awards, they are well deserved! Well done to the four children who have reached their silver award, it’s not easy reaching 100 star points but you are smashing it! Finally, well do to X and L who have received a recent swimming award at their after-school club and to T who got an award for her cheerleading. Keep up the hard work everybody!

Y6 Star of the week 27-1-23

Congratulations to our superstars this week Thomas and Keaton.

Thomas has really tried hard this week with his writing and I am impressed with his character description.

Keaton is a keen reader and he is starting to justify his opinions by referring to what has happened in the text.

Lucy and Jenson won our Good to be Green Award today.

Well done to Abigail for her great book review too.

Viking Day

We have had a smashing day today dressed as Vikings. We worked collaboratively in groups to plan and then perform our own Viking sagas. These were really incredible, and I am so impressed with the acting skills in the class. Your knowledge of Vikings shone through today in your re-enactments.

Marvellous Merits

Congratulations to our awards winners this week. The Head Teacher's certificates were awarded for brilliant writing and fantastic maths work. We also had Good to be Green lottery winners. Some children achieved Bronze and Siver Awards. Well done everyone. You are working really hard!

Marvellous Merits

Congratulations to our award winners this week. A special mention to all of Year 4 as they are celebrating after completing their class compliment chart. I'm very proud to be enjoying our pyjama party this afternoon. Keep up all the hard work Year 4.

Reading Ambassador Challenge Winners

The Reading Ambassadors met with me this week to choose winners for the book reveiw challenge that was set in December.

Thank you to all of the children who took part in the challenge- it was a very hard decision to choose a winner for each class. Please have a look at the winning book reviews which will be sent to Tameside Libraries to share on their social media.

Our winners were: Noah Hatton, Bella Rose, Kai Munro Taylor, Sam Sheppard and Abigail Taylor.

Safer Internet and Mental Health Week

Safer Internet Day 2023 will take place on the 7th of February 2023, with celebrations and learning based around the theme ‘Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online’. We are also linking this with Mental Health Week - as they go hand in hand. I am asking our pupils to design a poster about life online, which links the themes. All entries are to be sent to Mrs Parker by 10th February. Pupil Leaders will help me to decide the winners.

Going for Gold!

Broadbent Fold Primary School and Nursery are on our way to achieving gold for healthy eating with Tameside. We need everyone's help to do this and ensure snacks, birthday treats and packed lunches are all healthy. Parents will be receiving a letter home explaining our next steps - please let's work together to achieve this. We can do it!

Year 5's Wearable Tech Creations!

Year 5 enjoyed their Crumble Coding Workshop yesterday  Dom, the Coding Organiser, was impressed with their computing talents; they quickly grasped the instructions to use the laptops and equipment to create different coloured lights, at different speeds!  They then went on to invent their own item of wearable tech, such as a hat, belt, wristband or sash, and added the lights they had designed.   Finally, they strutted down the catwalk in their pairs to display their creations to the class!  Amazing work Year 5.  Mrs Blomeley

Tranquility in Year 4

Tranquility spread through Year 4 today on Well-being Wednesday's yoga lessons. Look at how much they have improved from last time, how flexible the children are getting and how proficient they are at their yoga poses now.
