Careers Week- the police

Today GMP visited Year 6 to discuss what it is like to have a career in the police. They discussed the training which is needed before police officers are allowed on duty. They talked about how important it is in all careers for people not to have a criminal record. They shared with us what type of roles they work in and what equipment they carry. The class enjoyed arresting me and putting me handcuffs.

I hope we have inspired some of you to think about a career in the police.

Careers week

This week, we have been celebrating National Careers week, getting excited about our future! Today, we were visited by four police officers who came to talk to us about being a police officer and all of the roles and responsibilities that they do. We asked them lots of questions including: ‘What is the best and worse part of your job?’ We found out that the best thing about being a police officer is helping others but the worst part is that not everyone wants to be helped.

Music

Year 3 were familiarising themselves with the notes C, D and E on the chime bars.

Careers Week

At the end of our rugby session today, Charlie shared with us some of his journey to being a head coach with the Jamie Robinson Foundation coaching rugby in schools. He is also a Sport Psychologist working with famous sport stars including Alejandro Garnacho. We were all very impressed.
