Diversity

Year 3 have listened to stories including "I am Jazz" which Is a story about Jazz who always knew she was different from other kids. She had a girl's brain and a boy's body. Children discussed transgender and learnt how important it is to speak to others' so they understand differences.

Super Minibeast Hunt

Year 4 were amazed to find so many insects outside on the school field. We found so many woodlice, ladybirds, slugs, spiders, beetles and black caterpillars. Fantastic hunting Year 4.

Drama workshop

2 Boards and a Passion Theatre Company worked with year 6 today about their transition to secondary school. After a few warm up games, the children listed their fears and hopes for moving on. They then worked in groups to role play a short sketch about a worst case scenario of their first day. We had bullying, hard work, strict teachers, being late, forgetting homework and many more fears. After performing their sketches, year 6 played a game called 'yes but...' where they thought of solutions to all of their worst fears.

Anniversary Assembly

What a wonderful momentous occasion as Broadbent Fold celebrated turning 50. So many past teachers and pupils turned up to celebrate. We shared an assembly, planted a tree and a time capsule and enjoyed a slice of cake and a cup of tea reminiscing. What a fantastic morning we all had.
