Visit from Andy Robertson

What a way to end sports week with a visit from GB sprinter Andy Robertson to give out our sporting awards! There was lots of excellent sportsmanship shown over the course of this week with lots of children learning new skills. Thank you Andy for coming in to give out the awards and answer all our questions about what it is like to be an elite athlete.

The final scores for Sports Week are in....

1st place = Ruby with 560 points

2nd place = Amber with 550 points

3rd place = Sapphire with 547 points

4th place = Emerald with 531 points

KS1 Freddy Fit exercises

Year 1 and 2 loved using all the Freddy Fit resources to do their exercises in the sunshine. We might have had a but of a sing-a-long at the same time. Great work everybody!

Looking at old toys

Year 1 loved playing with all the old toys as part of our history topic and could see that some of them were similar to ones we played with today. We spotted that the old toys were made of wood whereas our toys are usually made of plastic and metal now.

Year 1 football tournament

Year 1 loved taking part in a football tournament linked to the Women's World Cup as part of National Sports Week. There was some fantastic teamwork on display with great passing, shooting, defending and goal keeping skills. A big well done to Ruby house who won the tournament.

Awards in Year 5!

Special Sports Certificates were awarded this week for brilliant involvemnt in all the activities, as well as for following our sporting, school values of honesty, determination, respect, teamwork, self-belief and passion.  Members of our class attended the Active Tameside Swimming Gala; we are so proud of them!  Good to be Green Awards were presented for being Ready Respectful and Safe, as well as Mathletics certificates and Athletic medals for acheivements outside of school.   Well done everyone!  Mrs Blomeley

Y6 Star of the week 23-6-23

For Sports Week Boyd and Harriet won the Sports Awards. Both children have competed in competitions and tournaments skillfully with sportsmanship. Boyd is a dedicated Sports Ambassador too and his leadership skills this week have shone. Harriet was a fair referee in our Football Tournament.

Well done to our Good to be Green winners Thomas and Alfie.

Well done to the Gold Award winners who won their badges today.

A special congratulations to our first three superstars who won the Headteacher's Award today!

Y6 Football Tournament and Circuit Training

Yesterday we had our Football Tournament- all of the goals scored have been collated to be added to the final score board sheet for each house.

Today children took part in circuit training- I spotted some great techniques.

What a fantatstic Sports Week!

Friday Awards

We had a special visitor (a sprinter Andy Robertson) to give out Sports Awards today. Two children chosen showed determination and teamwork skills in our sports week events this week. As aways, we had two Good to be Green lottery winners and one child a Bronze Award. Well done!

This week's SUPERstars are...

Well done to this weeks Head-teacher and Good to be Green award winners, you have worked extra hard during sports week this week. Well done to the children who placed in first place in some of their athletics events this week and to those children who have reached 170 star points (silver). Excellent effort everyone! We also have a handful of children who have been achieving awards at their out of school clubs... X who has been extremely busy with his martial arts and football, T with all her cheerleading events, N with his martial arts and B for being a dance captain.

Freddie Fit in Year 4

A brilliant way to finish sports week with a Freddie's Fit session. The children put 100% into all the activities. Well done Year 4, I think you've all managed to do more than an hours exercise everyday this week.
