This half term we are learning about the Fairground. We will be looking at old and new rides, designing our own rides, making Punch and Judy puppets and lots more.

This week has been Science Week. We had a super afternoon playing on the Potato Bus, learning all about how potatoes grow, weighing potatoes and making healthy food plates. Well done to everybody who also brought in thier worst invention ever!!!!!!!! Super work everyone

We have had a super day today. We all came dressed up as book characters and had lots of lovely stories read to us by our visting Grandmas and Grandads. Thank you to everybody who came into year 1.
Our new topic for this half term is The Secret Garden written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The children will be transported into a magical world of flowers, plants and animals. We will use the story to inspire our writing and it will be the focus for our art sessions. Keep watching our blog to see what we get up to over this half term.
Well done everybody! You all did a fabulous job in our class assembly and I'm very proud of you all. Thank you to all the parents and carers who came to support the children, it was lovely to see so many of you at our amazing assembly.
To end our "Food Glorious Food" topic, we went to visit Tesco in Stalybridge. We took part in their Field to Fork project and found out where lots of different foods come from. We also got to taste bread, cheese, olives, strawberries, apples and blueberries. We had a fantastic morning and would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Sharon and Hayley who showed us around.

This week we are learning about Healthy and Unhealthy food. We are focusing on the story of Oliver's Vegetables. The children have been learning about days of the week and we have been ordering the story. Well done year 1

This week we have been learning all about food from around the world. We made yummy pizzas which we then ate. They were delicious. All the children had a great time choosing thier toppings and talking about Italian food.
Our new topic for this half term is "Food Glorious Food". We will learning about foods from around the world, where food comes from, how food has changed over the years and we will be making lots of different foods and tasting lots of yummy foods too. Its going to be an exciting and delicious half term.
