Design a football kit competition winners

Lots of pupils at Broadbent Fold have taken part in the PaninI design a football kit competition. Our sports council selected these fabulous entries as our school winners. All entries have been submitted to Panini, fingers crossed we win! Well done to everyone that took part.

Big Battery Hunt

The Eco leaders have given out boxes to children in their class so that they can collect batteries for recycling.  If your child did not bring a box home the used batteries can be brought into school in a plastic bag. The bags and boxes can be handed to the eco leaders in your child's class and they will bring them to me.  We are only collecting these used batteries: AAA  AA  C  D  The batteries that we collect will be recycled to make new batteries, used in the construction industry and they can even be made into fertilizer!  Please don't throw your old batteries away.  Ov

Friday Awards

A big well done to the Year 3 children who received certificates today. The Head Certificates were awarded for brilliant behaviour and attitude to learning as well as working hard in phonics sessions. We had two Good to be Green winners and two children achieved their Silver Award. Congratulation!

Art in Year 3

Year 3 looked at the art work by the Japanese artist Hokusai. They used watercolours to create background washes and used oil pastels to create pictures of disasters.

These photos show children practising using oil pastels.

Book Look

Thank you to the families who joined us for our book look. We are very proud of the hard work our pupils are doing everyday - we are pleased you are too. There will be another opportunity soon.

Litter Picking in our Community

A huge well done and thank you to Chloe for doing litter picking in our community in her own time. What a superstar you are! Keep making us proud Chloe and helping to keep our environment safe and healthy.

Super Science

Today in our Science lesson we learnt about soil layers. We looked each layer and what it is made of. We put materials inside plastic cups to show the soil profile and we labelled each layer. We also discussed different factors that influence how soil is made such as climate, parent material and landscape.

LGBT and History Month - February 2023

Do you know who this brave woman is from our history? February is LGBT History Month and we’re focussing on the lives and work of some courageous LGBT women. If you find out any details let Mrs Parker know for house points - we shall do some research together in assembly.

Tameside Cross Country Championships

A big well done to everyone who gave up their Saturday morning to take part in the Tameside Cross Country Championships. It was brilliant to see some new faces and see everyone cheering on pupils in the other races. A special congratulations to the two boys who have been selected to represent Tameside in the Greater Manchester Cross Country Championships at Heaton Park next week.
