Exciting Experiments

Today, Year 3 children looked at different properties of rocks including density, permeability and durability. We moved around the classroom and completed different experiments. We checked density of rocks by testing if they sank or floated. We used a small square of sand paper to test how durable the rocks were. To test permeability we added few drops of water using a pipette onto a rock and observed whether it was absorbed. We also completed a rock game on Education City and researched rocks using different books.

World Cup Year 3 Style!

Year 3 played football in their house teams with each team representing a country.

They really enjoyed playing as part of a team. Lots of passion for football was shown by Year 3.

MATHS and ART! Maths Week England 2022!

For Maths Week England, each child from every class produced a piece of Maths related artwork.  These ranged from Repeated Patterns in Reception to Geometric Patterns in Year 6 and the children really enjoyed creating their masterpieces!  Today, they had the opportunity to visit the Art Gallery and view the fantastic pieces of artwork on display in the Hall.  They had some interesting discussions about their favourite works of art!

Stone age necklaces
