Year 4 Maths activities

What a fabulous maths week in Year 4 we had! We investigated whether the children were Leonardo di Vinci's Vitruvian Man, cracked codes and tried to solve Fibonacci's sequence.

Tudors

Children in Year 4 enjoy history so this half term our theme is The Tudors.  Biographies and interviews, making Tudor houses, drawing portraits of Henry V111's wives and lots more. Our creative homework this term is to write a biography about a Royal person, we can't wait to read them. Mrs Slate & Ms McCoy.

Robots

Year 4 have been really creative with their new topic- Robots. They are thoroughly engrossed in the Iron Man story and our air raid shelter from WW2 has been converted into a cave to enable the children to imagine the cliff that Iron Man fell from, scattered along the beach. The children have been really imaginative using imotion and are really eager to create a Stop Motion movie using robots. Mrs Slate and Mrs McCoy have been highly impressed with the amount of effort they have put in already at home, as the children have been bringing in electronic gadgets, robots, models and information related to their new topic. What a great start to the second part of the Spring term.

World War 2

We are enjoying learning about WW2. There has been a huge response from children about their creative homework on WW2, children have brought in wonderful photos, pictures and information. An Anderson shelter/air raid shelter has been built in our classroom and we have even read by torch light!!

Homework

We have successfully been using mymaths and bug club online homework. Well done Year 4.
