Roman Soldiers in Year 4!

What a fantastic day Year 4 had when they visited the Grosvenor Museum in Chester to explore more about their Roman topic!    Wearing replica armour and shields, and accompanied by Maximus Titus, a Roman Soldier, the children marched through the city of Chester.  When they arrived at the largest Roman ampitheatre in Britain, Maximus taught the young soldiers some tactical moves!  After lunch the children enjoyed all of the activities in the workshop and were fascinated by the artefacts in the Museum's galleries.  The whole class were an absolute credit to Broadbent Fold.  Mrs Blomeley

Tameside Staying Safe Project

This half term year 5 will be taking part in a six week Tameside Staying Safe Project. The children have been working with artist Sam Hull on staying safe around traffic.

Last week, the children learnt the rules of crossing the road: using stop, look, listen. They then made some eye-catching signs to encourage pedestrians to stop, look and listen before crossing the road.

Outdoor Learning Day

All of the children had a great time during Outdoor Learning Day. The children in Year 3,4, 5 and 6 learnt a lot from the RSPB workshops. Year 1 and 2 produced some fantastic artwork from the leaves that they collected.  Well done everyone!

Visit to Rayner Stephens High School

On Wednesday a group of Year 6 went to the new opening of 'The next chapter' which is a new resource centre at Rayner Stephens. The children enjoyed their morning and had the chance to look around the library.

Outdoor Classroom Day

Year 3 enjoyed learning about birds from the RSPB. They then explored the outdoors listening and looking at the different colours of Autumn.

Maths Workshop

We had a lovely maths filled morning at our Halloween workshop. Thank you to all our parents and grandparents for attending and for all your lovely comments. The next workshop will be coming soon!

Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza

We have received an email from the Little Red Hen asking us to try out her pizza recipe. We followed all the instructions and made our own delicious pizzas.

Birds of Prey

Broadbent Fold today had the fabulous opportunity to observe and learn all about some birds of prey.

Children asked an expert lots of questions:

How do birds fly?

How heavy are they?

What do they eat?

Where do they live?

At home, can children tell parents what they learnt about birds of prey?

Super learner!

I just wanted to say a huge well done to Isaac Inglis. Who has been producing outstanding work at home and school. I have loved seeing your writing and the amazing pictures of your family. You should be very proud!
