Year 6 Blog

Year 6 have really impressed us this term in our Philosophy For Children (P4C) lessons. We have started the sessions looking at identity and what it means to be human. Over the next few weeks we will move on to look at extremism and terrorism. The children have been mature, respectful and sensitive in discussing such important topics. During the sessions, the children have had  the opportunity to choose their own lines of enquiry to discuss and debate.

We played a game called Freeze Frame in English this week. The children had to re-create a frozen image depicting the Viking attack on the monastries at Lindisfarne. They had to then come alive and make inferences about what each character would say. We had some great actors during this who were very entertaining. Hopefully this will help us to get into character when writing quotes in our newspaper reports. 

Our new topic is 'Were the Vikings vicious or victorious?'
