Miss Laitl presents Poland!

Miss Laitl from Key Stage 1 gave a presentation to Year 5 this week about her homeland, Poland.  We found out about the population, the different districts within the country and that the diverse landscapes in Poland include mountains, beaches and even a desert!  We discovered that Polish buildings are colourful and there are lots of beautiful churches there.

Super Science

Year 6 have been learning about circulation. They were really intrigued to hear each other's heart beat, measure their pulse and find out about how their hearts work.

Winter Reading Workshop

Lots of fun was had at our reading workshop. The children all enjoyed all the different activities. Thank you everyone that attended.

Penguin on the Loose!

There has been a penguin on the loose in our classroom. We have been searching everywhere to try and find it! We have made missing posters and painted pictures to help.

Winter

Our topic this half term is Winter and Arctic aminals. We have been Arctic explorers and have been finding lots of facts about the animals.

DEAR- Drop Everything And Read

Nursery children enjoyed their parents visiting and taking part in our reading workshop. Children enjoyed listening and joining in with stories, they made winter biscuits and paper plate artic foxes. There was also opportunity to take part in activities that involved recognising initial sounds to the winter pictures for example 's' for snowman, 'i' for igloo.

A huge thank you to all parents and grandparents who came and supported us with our reading workshop.

Pirates

This half term we are learning all about Pirates. We have created fantastic Wanted posters for our homework, drew some amazing Pirate portraits and made Pirate hats. We are writing our very own pirate adventure stories after we read Peter Pan together as a class.

Space in the Playground!

Year 5's new Science Topic is Earth and the Solar System and they are learning ways to remember all of the planets.  Their task today was to create chalk pictures of the planets on the playground, making sure they were drawn to scale and placed in their position in relation to the Sun.  Most children helped to create the Sun and each group put a great deal of effort into making the planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.   Well done Year 5!  Mrs Blomeley

Winter wonderland

Our Nursery classroom has turned into a Winter Wonderland, children have enjoyed play learning in the role play area and reading winter books.
