Yoga

Today in P.E we did Yoga. We did a shark activity where sharks had to catch us before we got to a mat and stood in our tree position. We also lay down in silence with our eyes closed and listened to a story about a Ladybird. The ladybird sometimes landed on your body, it was very relaxing. I really liked the shark game because it was really fun and active. We enjoy team games!By Leeson and Ava (Year 3)

Reading Joy

What a joy on World Book Day to have our finance governor- John Moon come and read one of his granddaughter's favourite stories to class. A big thank you for sharing David Walliam's The World's Worst Children.

Electrifying Electricity

Year 4 had an electrifying start to their electricity topic. They hunted school for things that used electricity and found an expert in Mr Higham who showed them the school's lightning conductor, fuse cupboard and electricity meters. The children are collecting meter readings throughout the following month to monitor how much electricity is used by school. I bet it's a lot more than you use at home!

World Book Day

We all looked amazing on World Book Day dressed as our favourite characters. We enjoyed listening to some of our favourite stories. Thank you Mrs Williams, our school governor for coming in to read 'What the Ladybird Heard'.

Kensuke's Kingdom - Year 5's Dilemma!

A mysterious parcel arrived containing, amongst other things, a faded football, a variety of shells and pebbles, a cryptic message in a bottle and a letter from “Michael” asking for advice.  Year 5 have already discovered that the story is none other than Michael Morpurgo’s Kensuke’s Kingdom and they are waiting for the story to unfold to identify the contents of the box .....   Mrs Blomeley

Pancake Day

We had a fantastic time on pancake day. We followed a recipe and made our own pancakes. They tasted delicious! We discussed Lent and talked about our favourite food that we could give up.

Pirates!

We have been learning all about pirates. We made some fantastic pirate ship collages, painted pirates, parrots and we even went on a treasure hunt!

Beth Tweddle Visits Broadbent Fold!

Broadbent Fold were honoured to be visit by Olympic Gold Medallist Beth Tweddle last half term. Our Sports Ambassadors asked some in-depth questions about how to inspire young children to get involved in sport and the opportunities inside and outside of school to engage participation. Our Sports Ambassadors will publish the full interview so tuned for more details! We will hopefully be using Beth’s Total Gymnastics school programme in the upcoming year to develop our gymnastics skills.

Flying back in time to The Stone Age

We have been very busy this week creating our own Stone Age cave and Stonehenge paintings!  For this, we researched actual paintings found in caves and chose our favorite designs.  Using our designs, we painted our cave art on to our rough surface using a variety of Stone Age methods!  Some of us used our fingers, whilst some of us used a thin stick brush.  We think our artwork is amazing!
