Super Science

This half term Year 2  are learning about health and hygiene. They have looked at healthy eating and food groups and discussed the importance of exercise for our body. They will be learning about the importance of personal hygiene with Miss Laitl too.

Exploring Europe!

Year 5's new topic Exploring Europe has got off to a great start!  Yesterday Miss Laitl from Key Stage 1 gave a presentation on her homeland, Poland.  We found out about the population, the different districts within the country and that the diverse landscapes in Poland include mountains, beaches and even a desert!  We discovered that Polish buildings are colourful and there are lots of beautiful churches there.  We had a go at speaking in Polish and learnt about Polish currency which is called Zloty; Miss Leitl brought some in for us to look at.

Food Glorious Food

Our new topic for this half term is "Food Glorious Food"

They will be zooming back to the past and exploring how the Romans lived, what they wore and what they ate. They will also be investigating what it was like to be a Roman soldier and seeing how influential Romans moulded history and changed the landscape and beliefs of Britain over 2000 years ago.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

 THANK YOU!

Parents' Questionnaire- Thank you to all who completed the parent survey on the school website. I have met with a number of parents following the surveys and their suggestions and ideas have already helped move the school forward.

Christmas Trees-A special thank you to Vaughan and Lester for their kind donation (again) of two Christmas Trees.

Forest School Fun

This half term we have had lots of fun during our Forest School sessions. The children have been playing games, exploring the environment, making fairy houses and lots more. We have also made twig Christmas trees to take home and the children have been looking at animals which hibernate over winter. We have really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait for our next sessions in Spring.
